Welcome to The Hornbill Corner
Together with some friends, my girlfriend and I visited Sarawak. The purpose for this visit was due to the fact that I did my history honours year thesis on it and thus wanted very much to experience this unique land of the hornbill. On the whole Sarawak is a very beautiful place. Try visiting it and you will really fall in love with the slow moving pace and the warmth of the people there. Sarawak, together with Sabah lie on the south-eastern side of Singapore separated by the South China Sea. Together with peninsular Malaysia, situated north of Singapore, they form MAlaysia. Sarawak and Sabah housed one of the most complete natural parks in the world. For natural lover these two Malaysian states are not to be missed. In my short two odd weeks of backpacking, I travel from Kuching, the capital to Miri and then to Gunung Mulu, back to Miri, to Bintulu to Sibu and finally back to Kuching again. When I came back, I realised that I had fallen in love with the place, the rustic surroundings, the slow pace and the warmth and kindness of the Sarawakians...... Below is a map of this beautiful place Our Itinerary Share with me your experience
