The Sixth Sense

The Official Website Directed by: M Night Shyamalan

Cast: Bruce Willis, Olivia Williams, Haley Joel Osment and (yes! former NKOTB) Donnie Walberg

Synopsis: In this chilling psychological thriller, eight-year-old Cole Sear is haunted by a dark secret: He is visited by ghosts. A helpless and reluctant channel, Cole is terrified by threatening visitations from those with unresolved problems who appear from the shadows. Confused by his paranormal powers, Cole is too young to understand his purpose and too terrified to tell anyone about his torment, except child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe. As Dr. Crowe tries to uncover the ominous truth about Cole's supernatural abilities, the consequence for the client and the therapist is a jolt that awakens them both to something harrowing -- and unexplainable.

My Say

This movie, directed by the talented but eccentric director, M Night Shyamalan, doesn't boost a big or even well known cast.  Even Bruce Willis himself is going downhill after "Armageddon".  The strength in this low budget film lies in its gripping plot and convincing acting by the actors and actresses.  I was surprisingly pleased with the performance of Bruce Willis who discarded his usual "I-will-save-the-world" type of die hard hero and managed a sensitive portrayal of the child psychiatrist Malcolm Crowe.  I will even make the prediction that this will be Willis' comeback film.
Indeed Willis and Osment (the little boy) exhibited a certain unique chemistry which was surprisingly lacked off in shows such as "Big Daddy".  Osment exhibits such maturity in the role of a traumatised kid possessing the accursed gift of the sixth sense  that he was almost believable. To reveal more about the plot would have spoilt the fun of those who are going to watch it. Just bear this in mind: "Be observant, really observant"

"A"                  A sai lah!!

Bruce: "How many times did I tell you not to wet your diapers?"

Haley: "Hey Bruce, isn't that Demi and Leonardo?"
