One of my burning passions is
movies. Singapore is a heaven for the movie fanatic.
Everywhere, within walking distance, there will be a cinema with all
posh, comfortable seats and the state-of-the-art sound system (THX, etc
etc, and the list goes on...) For other cinemas which failed miserably
on either or both of the above mentioned criteria (I mean the first
generation cinemas), their movies offerings to the older and more
deprived male community in Singapore had been a worthy effort, well
deserving commendation from the ministry.
My friend who is a movie fanatic like I
do, once make this remark that Movies is like a religion.
However unlike other religions which allows questioning, movies belongs
the the most staunch and faithful. Upon entering the
"church" premises( the cinema), when the light dimmed and the
screen brighten, there is only devotion to what is in front.
Nobody speak nobody question... sound like a religion isn't it?
Hopefully I will have the time to write some movie
reviews about the movies I watch and of course the comments from my
movie "kaki"s. However if you would like to express
yourself and find them making a website to do so is too ridiculously
stupid, please do not hesitate to send me your maybe 5 cents worth of
reviews.
As a freelance movie "critic",
I am just sharing my own views with all who bothered to read. I
will not go about saying Fann Wong is a good actress if all she does was
the "pitiful puppy look and the classic
"sorrowful-look-and-lip-biting-and tear-welling-up"
expression. Of course I had my inherent bias but who doesn't,
right? If my reviews really irritated you so much, there are two
solutions, one is to email me or leave something in the guestbook or to
seek psychiatric help. Come on, this is just MY viewpoint but I
must say that my view on Fann remains the same.
